David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a dynamic Water and Environment Market Leader to spearhead our Puget Sound Region's Water and Environment Business Unit (WEBU). In this pivotal role, you'll lead market strategies, drive business development, and champion our commitment to balancing the built and natural environments across Washington.

The Role You'll Play:

As the Puget Sound Region WEBU Market Leader, you will be the driving force behind our market growth and visibility in Washington. Your leadership will encompass strategic planning, business development, client engagement, and team mentorship. By leveraging your expertise, you'll ensure that our projects not only meet regulatory requirements but also uphold our high standards of quality and sustainability.

Your Impact:

  • Strategic Market Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive market strategies in collaboration with Client Team Leaders and Senior Leaders, focusing on expanding our Environmental Planning and Compliance, Water Resources and Water/Wastewater Infrastructure, market share in Washington.

  • Business Development Excellence: Lead business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships, and driving sales to achieve regional revenue goals.

  • Project Oversight: Serve as Principal-In-Charge or Project Manager, overseeing all aspects of project development and delivery, from scoping and budgeting to execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Team Mentorship and Growth: Mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Engage in recruiting and retention efforts to attract top talent and support staff longevity.

  • Brand and Visibility Champion: Enhance DEA's visibility and branding within the region through active involvement in industry organizations, conferences, and community engagement, positioning DEA as a leader in the water and environment sectors.

About You:

You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in leading teams and driving business growth in the water and environment markets. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members. You are adept at balancing long-term strategic planning with short-term priorities, and you possess the financial acumen to make informed decisions that drive success.

Skills & Expertise We're Seeking:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Studies/Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in business development and group leadership roles, demonstrating a successful track record of project wins and delivery in Washington state.

  • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead teams, develop staff, and achieve sales and business development results.

  • Strategic Planning: Expertise in developing and executing market strategies, with the ability to set and communicate long-term goals and short-term priorities.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong business and financial skills, with the ability to assess risks, rewards, and costs effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
