In this role, you'll be at the forefront of assessing and improving critical structures. From planning and executing bridge and tunnel inspections to performing structural analyses and developing load ratings, you'll play a vital role in keeping our communities connected and safe.

What You'll Do:

  • Organize and manage information for project documents.
  • Assist or lead bridge inspection projects, including developing inspection reports, load rating summaries, and concept reports.
  • Conduct condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels.
  • Generate and refine comprehensive bridge inspection reports.
  • Perform structural analyses and develop calculations using the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation and other codes.
  • Assist or lead engineering calculations, drawing details, and project specifications.
  • Estimate project costs and quantities to support budget development.
  • Review contractor submittals and assist or lead rehabilitation and maintenance projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 0-4 years of experience in bridge inspection, load rating, or design.
  • Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
  • Successful completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (or ability to complete within the first year).
  • Knowledge of bridge inspection and management software.
  • Experience with bridge load rating/analysis software like SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan, or LPile.
  • Proficiency in Mathcad, Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), and drafting tools like MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
