Industrial Designer

Job Summary

Industrial Designers are professionals who create and develop innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs for products, equipment, and other items.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on user needs, market trends, and technical requirements to inform the design process.
  • Create sketches, prototypes, and 3D models of product designs, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineers, marketers, and manufacturers, to ensure that designs meet functional, technical, and cost requirements.
  • Evaluate the usability, safety, and durability of product designs, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to refine designs and ensure that they meet user needs.
  • Develop and maintain design specifications, technical drawings, and documentation for product designs.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques, attending training sessions and professional development opportunities as needed.
  • Use a variety of design software and tools to create designs, including Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and SketchUp.
  • Communicate design ideas and concepts to clients, stakeholders, and team members in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and regulations related to design, such as intellectual property rights and safety regulations.
