Caregiver

Responsible for caring for another person and directly supporting them. Provide companionship, assist with personal care, and oversee general health care needs for the elderly, ill, or disabled.

• Assist patients with basic activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Administer medication to patients (give pills and injections) and monitor their conditions.
• Oversee medication and prescription dosages and scheduling of doctor’s appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks like vacuuming, dusting, cooking, and doing the laundry.
• Drive patients to appointments and run errands for them; help them use a wheelchair.
• Support patients emotionally who are dealing with chronic and terminal illnesses.
• Provide companionship to patients by conversing, playing games, and going on outings.
• Follow the patient’s care plan and report any changes in their health to the appropriate person.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individual.
