Self-Help: Graduate Library Assistants (RIS)

ECU Department of Joyner Library- Research and Instructional Servicesis currently seeking several Graduate Assistants to help provide support to department faculty and staff.

Duties
The Graduate Assistant duties include but are not limited to the following:
* (Primary Duty) Providing patron assistance at the Research Desk.
* Assisting faculty and staff.
* Opening and closing service desk.
* Shelving and shelf-reading processes.
* Other duties as assigned.

Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Pay: $15.00/hr.

Notes: This position is a great opportunity for graduate students to gain library and customer service experience, increase their general library knowledge base, and improve their research skills. Master of Library Science ( MLS) graduate students are encouraged to apply as this position provides valuable experience in an academic library setting.

Qualifications
* Candidates must exhibit professionalism and have good communication and customer service skills.
* Candidates must be intellectually curious, and willing to learn.
* Candidates must have a flexible schedule and the availability to work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.
* Candidates should possess some familiarity with Joyner's website and databases as well as the research process.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and internet searching is required.
* Familiarity with instant messaging technology is a plus.
