The City of West Hollywood is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Risk Management and Safety Analyst to help us enhance our risk management and safety programs. As the Senior Risk Management and Safety Analyst, you will play a vital role in the administration of the City’s risk management and safety initiatives, overseeing a variety of projects, including:
- Oversee the City’s Safety Committee and frequently coordinate with external partners, such as CJPIA (California Joint Powers Insurance Authority), claims adjusters, and ADA consultants.
- Develop and lead training sessions on new safety-related policies.
- Facilitate focus groups for the Disability and Older Adults Advisory Boards.
- Proctor training assignments through CJPIA and ensure staff compliance with safety goals.
- Conduct periodic safety checks and assessments, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, including Cal/OSHA compliance.
- Evaluate potential risk exposures and assist in planning, organizing, and implementing city-wide safety programs.
- Participate in quarterly meetings with staff to monitor progress towards safety goals and address any emerging safety concerns.
- Manage the DMV Pull Notice Program.
Ideal Candidate
This position requires a strong understanding of local government risk management practices and the ability to build relationships across departments. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in local government risk management and safety programs.
- ARM (Associate in Risk Management) designation preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent relationship-building abilities and a deep understanding of organizational culture.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization.
- Experience in loss prevention, accident prevention, workers’ compensation, and insurance evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field; and,
- Four (4) to Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience; or,
- Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation (required or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire)
- Valid California Driver’s License
