R&D Warehouse Supervisor

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon and we are looking for an R&D Warehouse Supervisor in Lake Forest, CA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Responsible for warehouse and distribution activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing engineering goods.

• Review and analyze inventory reports and surplus stock lists to improve inventory control.

• Collect and interpret information on present and future distribution needs for planning purposes.

• Ensures conformity with shipping commitments; evaluates shipping deadlines and take corrective action to eliminate behind-schedule conditions.

• Coordinates special distribution efforts to achieve new product introduction.

• Supervise the receiving and storing of R&D parts and supplies.

• Coordinate the inspection of incoming material.

• Arranges for return of defective material.

• Arranges for inventory reviews and reconciles book inventories with physical counts.

• Identifies areas for improvement regarding Material and Warehouse processes, tools and rules and supports improvement processes.

• Train and support the warehouse personnel and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within area of responsibility.

• Ensures permanent data quality and assists in data base cleaning.

• Ensure management of daily MRP exception messages and appropriate follow up.

Experience:

• Valid Driver License

• Forklift Experience

• SAP Experience

• Excel Experience

• Able to lift 20 pounds

• International shipments experience

• SAP experience

• Inventory software management experience (Sortly preferred)

• Experience in a Regulated Industry (Medical Device, Automotive, etc.)

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent year of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc. +9 yrs; B.S.+5yrs M.S.+2yrs; PhD+0yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• 2+ yrs of relevant experience
