Our INVISTA Orange, Texas site is seeking entrepreneurial, innovative leaders to join our team as an Operations Supervisor.
Our Team We are looking for an Operations Supervisor to lead a shift team by providing safe, compliant, reliable, and productive day-to-day operations. You will drive and coordinate the activities for the operations group with strong teamwork and performance expectations. You will assist in the implementation of operating initiatives and ensure that operating, reliability, and production plans are executed with operations. What You Will Do * Oversee the safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient production of nylon intermediate products. * Maintain adherence to environmental standards and reporting requirements. * Foster a positive work environment and promote a strong culture of teamwork. * Lead and develop a team of approximately 12 direct reports, focusing on ownership of results, creative thinking, and economic decision-making aligned with the company's risk profile. * Ensure employees acquire the skills necessary to identify root causes and take effective actions to resolve issues. * Identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans to enhance team skills and capabilities. * Collaborate with other leaders to ensure smooth transitions between teams and shifts. * Guide the team in optimization efforts to improve product yield, reduce costs, and minimize raw material and energy usage. * Engage in proactive safety initiatives, including emergency drills and incident analysis, to prevent accidents and environmental incidents. * Develop and coordinate improvement ideas with engineering and other support teams to enhance process safety, environmental performance, and efficiency. * Utilize an operational excellence mindset to troubleshoot and solve problems. * Continuously seek and drive improvement opportunities within the team. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Proven track record in team leadership or supervisory roles OR Experience working in a chemical manufacturing or refining plant setting OR Relevant experience gained through military service * This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship What Will Put You Ahead * 5+ years of leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing or refining plant environment * Proficiency in advanced process troubleshooting * Demonstrated experience in leading and participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) * Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM), Lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, Quality ISO 9001 standards, and team-based maintenance Physical Requirements * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, wear all required PPE, and work in various climates and conditions * This role operates on a 12-hour shift schedule and may necessitate 24/7 staffing during turnaround events, unplanned incidents, or outages * Responsible for serving as an Incident Response Leader and coordinating with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
