DIRECTOR OF MANUFACTURING STRATEGY - GLOBAL ELECTRONICS

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN - WORLD HEADQUARTERS - IN-PERSON

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Strategy Director to develop and implement strategies aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness within our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will stay current with industry trends and advancements, develop technology roadmaps, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements to ensure the adoption of best practices.
  • Develop and introduce technology roadmaps to improve key performance areas such as quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor production metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.
  • Increase the use of generic equipment to reduce the reliance on unique equipment in the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new technologies and processes.
  • Participate in the Design to Win initiative to ensure cost-competitive designs and processes for upcoming RFQs.
  • Develop strategies to improve 'Design for Manufacturing' from product design to shop floor layout.
  • Enhance alignment and collaboration between Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Industrial Engineering (IE) teams with product design engineers to improve manufacturability.
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs to ensure manufacturing processes meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of manufacturing professionals, building a high-performing team and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop long-term goals and align team efforts to achieve them.
  • Develop and ensure effective training programs for plants to successfully adopt new manufacturing technologies.
  • Implement training programs to familiarize shop floor teams with the latest equipment technology before it is introduced into the manufacturing facility.
  • Increase the number of Six Sigma black belts through enhanced training, resulting in reduced waste and increased efficiency.
  • Develop and promote lean manufacturing principles and practices.



Your Qualifications:



  • Proven experience in developing and implementing manufacturing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles as they relate to manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
  • Experience in developing technology roadmaps and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams to integrate new technologies and processes.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of manufacturing professionals.
  • Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective training programs.



Bonus If You Have:



  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Strong project management skills.
