Job Overview:

The Endoscopy Technician is a direct patient caregiver and assists the physicians in the technical aspects of performing endoscopic procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Graduate
  • Will train the right candidate for the role
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certification in flexible endoscope reprocessing is required within two (2 years) of hire

Preferred:

  • Graduate of an endoscopic or surgical technician program; or at least one year experience as an endo tech in a hospital or freestanding endoscopy center preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Part-Time
  • Day Shift
  • 24 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately collects, labels, and delivers specimens as required
  • Assist physician and RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Demonstrates knowledge of latex allergy and isolation precautions
  • Provide direct patient care within his or her scope of practice, under the direct supervision of the RN and/or the physician
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for staff and patient care by complying with regulatory requirements and standards
  • Maintain procedure rooms and reprocessing room clean and adequately stocked
  • Reports patient complaints, problems, and any untoward signs, symptoms or unusual occurrences immediately to the registered nurse
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
