Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) Supports Calpine's CCS projects across multiple state and federal legislative and regulatory venues. Important elements of the role include: will assist in analyzing emerging or existing regulatory and legislative issues impacting Calpine and/or the energy industry; will assist in gathering intelligence and data; assisting with the preparation of position papers, presentation material; will assist in developing Calpine's advocacy strategy with the rest of the Government and Regulatory Affairs team; and will assist in coordinating advocacy with peers and trade groups. The Intern will provide support within the government relations function and related areas such as compliance and regulatory affairs. Typically involved in supporting general analysis of government relations activities or may be used in whole or in part in such areas as compliance analysis and administration. Will assist with designing and planning for government outreach by providing analysis of merging or existing legislative public policy issues impacting Calpine and/or the energy industry. Will assist in gathering intelligence and assisting in preparation of analysis, position papers, presentations, proposal support, etc. Will work with management to develop Calpine/energy industry legislative and policy initiatives.
