Overview: The Director, Product Marketing is responsible to drive product strategy that will fuel the commercialization engine across a business unit with a deep understanding of our products, use cases, and buyer personas. They will be responsible for creating and executing the strategic marketing plans, including campaign identification, creation of marketing assets and materials, tracking of marketing campaign success metrics. The Director, Product Marketing, will work as part of the larger Marketing organization at Inovalon to maintain and enhance brand awareness and equity. This role will oversee and manage a Product Marketing team to support the Sales team in achieving revenue growth objectives through the creation of compelling messaging and execution of effective marketing campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead the Product Marketing team members of your group to drive positioning of our products in the marketplace. Execute upon the commercialization strategy with a deep understanding of our products, use cases, and buyer personas;
  • Understand client needs and behaviors, define key benefits that differentiate our products and services, and deliver compelling messaging across multiple business units and distribution channels and partnerships to effectively promote our products;
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams, you'll own the success of go to market and launch strategies for new products and features. You'll work collaboratively to deliver campaigns that unify and amplify brand position, and client value;
  • Partner with the Finance and Product teams to develop optimal pricing strategies;
  • Create the annual Marketing Plan including defining the objectives, key performance and results for the product marketing team, and drive articulation of product positioning;
  • Lead your Product Marketing Managers to work closely with commercialization team identifying needs and sharpen product offerings based on feedback from customers, Sales, and competitive offerings;
  • Collaborate with analytic team to closely track effectiveness of marketing activities and results and stay abreast of pipeline contribution and growth;
  • Work with Sales and Product Management on recommendations to fine-tune campaigns to improve results.
  • Build messaging to ensure product differentiation and build a competitive intelligence strategy for consistent assessment and knowledge sharing across the business;
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Brand to define and orchestrate the Inovalon industry brand awareness strategy.
  • Provide deeper insights to drive program performance, you'll identify internal and 3rd party research needs to support product positioning and go-to-market plans;
  • Assess market needs and opportunities for software applications and define market requirements and desired positioning while collaborating with Product Management to align product strategy and roadmaps to the market needs;
  • Establish Strategic Imperatives and supporting KPI's for your team's efforts and work closely with the Analytic team to track performance to ensure marketing plans are delivering expected business outcomes; and
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.


Job Requirements:



  • Minimum of 9+ years of experience in full cycle product marketing; with at least five years of management or supervisory responsibility.
  • High-energy, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and can-do attitude required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with the ability to act nimbly and quickly, to solve challenges and react as necessary, even if limited information is available.
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and concepts.
  • Able to perform under pressure and manage multiple competing deadlines.
  • Persuasive and diplomatic with the ability to think creatively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Basic knowledge of Salesforce is preferred.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field or equivalent experience.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time).
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position will include less than 25%.

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$145,100 $210,000 USD
