Description

  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
  • Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
  • Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
  • Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation, accurately reading measurement instruments.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece. Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
  • Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
  • Rivets and spot welds work pieces.
  • Endeavors to create a work environment that is enjoyable, engenders pride in the product and focus on the customer, and provides room for individual responsibilities and ideas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years machine operation experience.
  • Sheet metal experience preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
  • Effective oral and written communications.
  • Must be able to work Mon-Thurs. 6:00am - 4:30pm and overtime, as needed.
