As the Behavioral Health Licensed Associate Therapist, you will provide mental, behavioral, and psychological treatment services or therapy directly to patients, using a variety of treatment methods. These services can be offered individually or in groups and may be delivered virtually or in person. If you hold a master's degree and are licensed, your role will often include assessing or evaluating mental health disorders, and developing, reviewing, and implementing comprehensive treatment plans.

You will assist patients and their families in changing behaviors and finding and accessing interpersonal, family, and community resources to manage their health and well-being. As part of a team, you may also provide community education and awareness, and consult with staff members and other healthcare professionals on methods to help patients recognize and overcome barriers to health and well-being.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Evaluate clients' mental and physical health, addiction, or problematic behavior and assess readiness for treatment and risk of suicide
  • Develop plans based on clinical experience and knowledge and review treatment goals and plans with clients and their families
  • Counsel clients individually or in groups to help them overcome dependencies, adjust to life, or make changes; provide ongoing therapeutic support and case management
  • Maintain records of clients' progress, including diagnostic records, progress notes, and other required paperwork
  • Refer clients to other resources and services, such as job placement services and support groups
  • Prepare clients for transition out of counseling through discharge planning
  • Ensure the confidentiality of records related to clients' treatment
  • Perform crisis interventions to ensure the safety of patients and others

Required Qualification:



  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of associate's degree and certification in behavioral health, counseling, or similar focus


Preferred Qualification:



  • Experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals and families



Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
