Position Description
Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility. Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
The Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health in the School of Health Professions at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) invites applicants for the position of Adjunct Instructor for their online Master of Science in Counseling programs (i.e., Addiction Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling). The open position is for an adjunct position in an online format. The primary role of the appointment is for educating within the Master of Science in Counseling programs in one or more of the following areas: addiction counseling, clinical mental health counseling, and/or clinical rehabilitation counseling. Teach courses within the online Master of Science in Counseling programs (i.e., Addiction Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling) as assigned by the program director(s) in synchronous and asynchronous formats.

Facilitate meaningful discussions, promote critical thinking, and provide constructive feedback to students to foster their professional growth.

Collaborate with program faculty and staff to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of the program curriculum and educational experiences.

Demonstrate excellent communication abilities, effectively conveying information and ideas both verbally and in writing.

Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

Apply advanced practice knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas: professional counseling orientation and ethical practice, social and cultural diversity, human growth and development, career development, counseling and helping relationships, group counseling and group work, assessment and testing, research and program evaluation, clinical supervision, addiction counseling, clinical mental health counseling, and/or clinical rehabilitation counseling.

Required Qualifications
A degree that is appropriate to the level of courses being taught.

Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate degree from a CACREP accredited program.

Will consider those with a master's degree who are working toward a doctoral degree in a CACREP accredited program.
