The Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health in the School of Health Professions at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor for their online Master of Science in Addiction Counseling program. Performs professional level work and meets accreditation standards as a core faculty member.

This position is eligible for remote work.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Teaching graduate level courses, pursuing scholarship and providing clinical supervision/service in the online Master of Science in Addiction Counseling program.
  • Facilitate meaningful discussions, promote critical thinking, and provide constructive feedback to students to foster their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with program faculty and staff to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of the program curriculum and educational experiences.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication abilities, effectively conveying information and ideas both verbally and in writing. Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Apply advanced practice knowledge and skills in addiction counseling and pursue a related scholarship agenda.


Occasional Duties


Required Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision or closely related field;
  • Appropriate licensure and credentials for Addiction Counseling specialty;
  • Prior teaching experience at the graduate level in counseling.
