Job Summary

Coordinates and administers the operational and financial activities associated with the academic program in the Nursing Graduate (Advanced Practice Nursing and MSN) department. The Sr. Program Coordinator will provide academic and student advisement, including the support of essential administrative functions to meet department goals. This position will report to the Chair of the Nursing Graduate and DNP departments.

  • Coordinates and administers the operational and financial activities associated with Nursing Graduate (Advanced Practice Nursing and MSN) department.
  • Assists in the coordination/preparation of strategic plans in support of the Nursing Graduate (Advanced Practice Nursing and MSN) department.
  • Serves as liaison between program participants and the university community.
  • Evaluates program. Analyzes data for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with program marketing and recruitment, as required. Coordinates and liaises with FIU Online, and the program director to set enrollment targets and oversee the matriculation of new students initially and onward through the student life cycle. Recommends enhancements to the NGR program website as communication and recruitment materials for prospective students. Represents the NGR program in marketing and recruitment events.
  • Assures that the staff are compliant with University policies and procedures.
  • Serves as an University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Program Coordinator of the Nursing Graduate Department by providing assistance with course scheduling, events, symposiums, faculty assignments; by cross training and supporting during peak load occurences.
  • Assists the Student Services Department with facilitation of recruitment, selections, student registration and enrollment.
  • Coordinates the development, scheduling and implementation of new and ongoing academic/student programs or services in the Nursing Graduate department.
  • Oversees and facilitates specific activities for the Nursing Graduate department.
  • Supervises and evaluates the work of departmental staff, including Federal Work Study and temporary employees.
  • Establishes and maintains academic standards and degree requirements, accreditation matters, as necessary.
  • Leads and oversees course scheduling and space allocation, program marketing and recruitment, as required.
  • Coordinates all logistical matters related to each project including planning, initiation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitors status of projects. Analyzes program data, develops reports, and oversees activities.
  • Monitors accounts/expenditures and reconciles statements. Advises management on budgetary needs or discrepancies. Generates income as needed.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive tracking systems to monitor program progress, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Oversees the collection, compilation, and maintenance of comprehensive program-related date, ensuring accuracy and availability for high-level decision making by college leadership.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of office or related experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in data management and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proactive approach with strong initiative.
  • Experience handling multiple tasks and being comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
