Location: Ahuja Medical Center University Hospitals is offering a $1,000 sign on bonus, minus applicable taxes, for full time environmental service workers hired externally. A Brief Overview The Environmental Services Worker may work in any location on client premises.The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the department may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among locations, depending on business necessities and client requirements What You Will Do
- Act as a department champion- supporting management and culture growth.
* Will be required to train new and current employees * Provide admin support to peers and help guide them through UH practices (EDA, Pay Stubs, Etc.) - Performs Environmental Services duties in an effective, efficient manner completing all steps in the 7 Step Cleaning Process.
* Performs assigned duties according to quality standards to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff * Keeps cleaning cart, equipment hopper room and trash-room clean and organized. All cleaning materials properly labeled. * Will be required to properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per manufacturer standards. * Cleans offices, patients'/residents' rooms, classrooms, common areas, restrooms, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require attention. * Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings. * May clean furniture * May change cubical curtains and shower curtains. * May wash walls and maintain baseboards and cove base molding. * May empty trash, linen, and garbage containers. * May transport waste to outside compactors; always utilizing sealed trash carts. * May handle hazardous waste in accordance with government regulations and Sodexo standards. * May transport and package Regulated Medical waste and Chemo waste. * May participate in snow and ice management duties, including the operation of snow removal * May drive a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle). - Responsible for positive verbal and non-verbal interactions with patients, families, visitors and other employees.
* Provides assistance to these individuals as needed or finds the appropriate individual to provide the assistance requested. - Maintains floor surfaces and stairwells, including but not limited to the following:
* Sweeps, mops, buffs, steams, scrubs, polishes, strips and refinishes hard-surface floors using heavy equipment. * Vacuums, spot cleans and extracts carpeted floor surfaces; at healthcare facilities, office building, or similar building. * May participate in the maintenance of wood floors, to include cleaning, screening, stripping, sanding and refinishing. * May assist in inventorying floor care products. - Replenishes supplies and materials.
- Perform routine operational maintenance of cleaning equipment per manufacturer specifications.
- Notifies leaders concerning any need for any maintenance repairs or additions observed.
- May drive a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle).
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
* Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. * Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. * May be required to operate infection control equipment. * Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work. - Attends training programs required by Cleveland Medical Center (classroom and virtual) as designated and completes all assigned training within the allotted time.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
