OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for helping along with the members of the maintenance team in keeping the facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. This position will be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced Technical/Vocational Training or Proven knowledge learned through hands-on experience in facility grounds and vehicle maintenance
  • Preferable 2-5 years in facilities maintenance/construction
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to successfully pass a Criminal Background Check


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the upkeep repairs and renovation of building and grounds.
  • Maintain neat, clean and safe work environment including responsibility for inventory of supplies, equipment, and machinery necessary for effective job performance.
  • Maintain and service utilities in heat, electrical, plumbing and power.
  • Make necessary repairs to facilities and property within scope of ability.
  • Interior painting as needed.
  • Maintain the grounds by mowing, sweeping, shoveling, snow removal, and spreading sand to prevent slipping on walkways and parking areas as needed.
  • Clean, store and make minor repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Stock supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Keep storage areas neat and orderly.
  • Routine maintenance of vehicles, including checking for accident kits, vehicle registration, and necessary insurance documentation. Ensure maintenance log is maintained and presented at least quarterly at the business meeting.
  • Act as Divisional Property Manager in the case of their absence including handling emergency calls after hours and supervise other Maintenance Technicians.
  • Assist the Divisional Property Manager with invoicing, payroll and other office issues as needed.
  • Travel across state to various Salvation Army Locations to work on projects as needed.
  • Other reasonably related duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
