Job Summary |
The Startup Studio at Auburn University is an initiative of the Lowder Center, providing free deliverables to early-stage student and community entrepreneurs with the goal of helping their businesses grow. The deliverables provided include marketing collateral, videos, and small websites or apps. The Lowder Center is currently hiring for the position of Creative Manager. This position will contribute to the creative output of the Startup Studio, and oversee the deliverables built by student employees. The selected candidate will also assist with outreach, events, content creation, social media management, and administrative duties for the center more broadly. The ideal candidate will have creative, technical, and/or startup experience with an innovation-oriented mindset.
Temporary Employment Services (
TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university.
TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

Essential Functions |
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead studio student employees and 3rd party contractors' creative output to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables.
- Produce content (ex: videos, social media posts, graphics, etc.) for the Center and studio clients.
- Assist in developing, planning, and implementing new projects
- Actively recruit participants for Lowder Center programs and collaborate with Lowder Center staff to raise awareness and impact of Lowder Center initiative
- Assist with event operations as needed, and potentially lead one or more workshops.
- Advertise Lowder initiatives online and elsewhere, and field questions about Lowder Center initiatives via email, phone, or social media as needed.
- Capture photos, survey responses, and other data to track participation in Lowder Center initiatives and generate reports to enhance the mission and goals of the center.
- Coordinate with other campus groups and external stakeholders as appropriate to raise awareness of Lowder Center initiatives.
- Occasionally travel for recruiting, events, and research as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Computer Science, Industrial Design, Business, Engineering, or a related field. |
Desired Qualifications |
- Video production and/or graphic design experience.
- Marketing and outreach experience.
- Ability to work individually as well as cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Some experience with instruction and/or training.
- Some knowledge of design best practices.
- Some experience with event management.
- Commitment and motivation to learn.
- Entrepreneurial or startup experience.
- Dependability, multi-tasking, and the ability to switch priorities based on departmental needs.
