About the Role:

As a senior consultant - business analyst in the Modernization and Data Solutions practice, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today's ever-changing healthcare landscape. NYSTEC is considered a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise and connecting the dots for our clients. Over the last several years, NYSTEC has consulted on some of the largest Medicaid initiatives and served in various roles across a multitude of New York State healthcare technology systems.

Serving as a business analyst, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include supporting healthcare technology initiatives for our clients, partners, and stakeholders - primarily through applying strong business analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to our healthcare project(s).


Key Responsibilities

  • Creating key project documentation and presentation materials.
  • Working with stakeholders to identify programmatic and project needs.
  • Collaborating with team members to propose and build solutions by conducting research, gathering requirements, and designing and developing resources to meet the clients' needs.
  • Executing and supporting project work plans that drive activities to meet critical project milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinating meetings and collaborative sessions in support of the work plan, including convening requirement sessions.
  • Conducting analyses to construct scope statements, business requirements, use cases, business process flows, and identify implementation needs to support the desired end state.
  • Anticipating, communicating, and mitigating issues/risks throughout the project life cycle.
  • Developing and maintaining reports for internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Developing ad hoc written deliverables that meet the needs of the team and clients.
  • Exhibiting excellent writing, documentation, communication, and analytical skills to meet project goals.
  • Working with project managers to coordinate requests with competing priorities.


About You:

Required Qualifications



  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience writing, gathering, and maintaining business requirements and/or business rules.
  • Proficiency with translating complex analytic ideas into actionable insights for different stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders and to understand their needs through excellent listening and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) activities to manage, plan, design, implement, test, and deliver information systems and strategies.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a business, technical, scientific, or related discipline.
  • Experience with health information technology projects.
  • Familiarity with data governance standards for healthcare.


Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree and five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.


The pay range for this position is $79,793.00 to $109,716.00 per year.
