As the Bio-Rad 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, you will supervise the Raw Material Preparation Department to oversee a production team that processes biologic raw materials into intermediates to be used as a base material for liquid reagent products. This position plans and assigns work to direct labor personnel, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions within established delivery, quality, compliance, safety, budget and cost standards.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Manage a team of production associates engaged in the processing of human-based raw materials into purified intermediates to be used as base material for diagnostic controls.
  • Direct a production team on the following inventory management activities: staging, put away, cycle count, scrapping and sample prep activities.
  • You will supervise the team, schedule, assign and manage the daily activities of a team.
  • You will coach and train personnel in their duties. Monitor employee performance and prepare and communicate performance reviews.
  • Provide skilled technical and process guidance for resolution of production problems.
  • Develop objectives to meet production requirements, quality standards, control scrap, cost and budget targets.
  • Prepare operating procedures and standards that are reviewed by management.
  • Monitor processes and makes adjustment to stay within schedule, budgets and established targets.
  • Provide input and assists with the establishing of annual budgets. Track expenses against budgets. Control expenses.
  • Responsible for meeting key metrics such as production schedules, quality standards, production yields, cost targets etc.
  • Communicate priorities, performance results, and objectives to team members. Troubleshoot production issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Interview and select personnel. Make salary recommendations based upon individual performance.


What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering, chemistry and/or biology or a related field.
  • Must have relevant manufacturing/production background in this field.
  • 5-7 years manufacturing production experience, preferably in a regulated environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of certain compliance issues, e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Relevant certifications or training a plus.
  • Understanding of quality systems as they relate to production operations.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $82,000 - $112,80 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
