Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator

Job Description

The Maintenance Coordinator's role will be to improve Technicians' work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access.

Duties and Responsibilities

The coordinator will be the principal contact and liaison between Maintenance, Operations and other supported departments. In this capacity, the planner ensures that all internal departments that require maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service. The coordinator is responsible for the scheduling and coordination of all planned maintenance work perform within the facilities. Including but not limited to:



  • Single point of contact for spare parts sourcing and ordering.
  • Coordinating work and scheduling maintenance support for all plant work during plant outages and cleans.
  • Coordinating work and scheduling support for any safety or food safety work orders.
  • Maintaining good customer service to production and other support departments.


Through the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the coordinator is also responsible for operation and maintenance of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) which is essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters. Including but not limited to:



  • Establish and maintain a proactive maintenance schedule for new and existing equipment to ensure equipment is at peak operating efficiency.
  • Run inventory reports for items that are critical along with cycle counting information that occurs on a set frequency.
  • Establish and report on any departmental KPIs such as work order completion %, planned work vs emergency work, overall maintenance spend (labor, materials, etc.), and overall maintenance labor utilization.
  • Gather requests to plan new and ongoing maintenance work.
  • Maintain inventory and records for parts, including cycle counting and bin updates.
  • Write and edit work orders and PM's as needed.
  • Order parts, supplies, material and inventory to ensure planned and prepared work schedules can proceed.
  • Issue and receive parts, entering all data into the inventory control software.
  • Maintain organization of the parts rooms.
  • Maintain departmental supplies and parts, balancing budgetary constraints with operational needs.
  • Must be a team player that is self-supervised with excellent communication and follow-up skills.


Qualifications:





    • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)




Required Skills





    • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Planner, preferably in a food packaging industry
    • Experience in a support role with a maintenance organization within a manufacturing environment
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, any CMMS system


  • Experience working with vendors.


Preferred Skills



  • Experience in a purchasing or MRO buyer role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts and practices in purchasing or parts management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such material masters, bills of material, bills of lading, invoices, purchasing agreements.
  • Experience working with vendors.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence with vendors.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers, vendors and internal partners.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced utilization of any CMMS software.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands to arms; talk to hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
