The VCoE Engineering intern will work with a global team of Solutions Consultants to collaborate on the development of enhancements for a smart connected lighting system. This opportunity will ask the student to perform the following job duties.

  • Work with a global team of Solutions Consultants to define the requirements for updating the smart connected lighting system (Codebeamer)
  • Update or create 3D CAD Models and animations using Creo Parametric and Creo Illustrate to fulfill design requirements
  • Develop augmented reality (AR) experiences using PTC software solutions (Vuforia Studio)
  • Adapt AR experiences to customer themes using Vuforia Studio, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Update or create new mashups using the PTC IoT platform (ThingWorx) to represent and interact with the smart connected lighting system

The goals of the internship are as follows:

  • Develop ThingWorx mashups supporting VCoE business processes
  • Adapt and enhance existing smart connected lighting systems to respond to ambient lighting and environmental conditions
  • Adapt existing and create new 3D CAD models to support expanded capabilities of the smart connected lighting system
  • Develop Augmented Reality experiences to communicate the design intent, assembly, and use of the modified lighting system
  • Support the sale of PTC engineering software solutions across a variety of industry verticals to proliferate the industry-leading IoT and AR solutions
