We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to support the Air Operations Center (AOC) program office, which is within the USAF Kessel Run Division and located at Hanscom AFB, MA RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical guidance, assist with developing strategies to reduce human errors, and improve the automation of the AOC vulnerability management (VM) program, Validation, Verification, Assessment (VV&A) program as prescribed by the Government.
- Facilitate, prioritize, and recommend appropriate actions to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure the implementation of appropriate security settings to include both IAVM's and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) are implemented IAW with Government requirements.
- Systematically identify and recommend eliminating/mitigating threats to the AOC Enterprise.
- Leverage security tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Host Based Security System (HBSS) to analyze and mitigate vulnerabilities for applications, databases, operating systems, network components, and other AOC WS information assets.
- Engage with stakeholders and mission partners to facilitate vulnerability discovered through testing exercise, (i.e., Vulnerability Scanning, Penetration Testing, Web Application Security Testing, API Security Testing, Configuration Scanning, Security Audits, etc.)
- Ensure cyber engineering activities (analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring) best meets (as resources allow) established requirements (e.g., RMF & DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide).
- Assist the AOC Program in developing authorization package artifacts that satisfy Authorization Official requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience, with experience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programs desirable.
- Must have a current Security + certification. CISSP certification is desirable.
- Candidate should understand the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
- Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment with an adaptive personality.
- Candidate should have excellent communication skills - both oral and written - and possess analytical skills to identify and fault isolate problems/issues, accurately assess relevance of information, generate, and evaluate alternatives, and provide solution recommendations.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of current security threats, techniques, and landscape.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-based architecture is desired.
- Candidate MUST have an active US security clearance.
- Candidate MUST be a US citizen.
