MRI Technician - Mammogram Technologist Oakland, MD Pay From: $28 per hour MUST: Experienced MRI Technician and/or Mammogram Technologist 2 plus years of experience as a MRI Technician and/or Mammogram Technologist Experienced in performing all diagnostic MRI exams to include MRI exams of the extremities Ability to utilize sterile technique when performing venipuncture and introducing contrast material Physical mobility with ability to lift, push or pull up to and including 35 lbs. Handling of patients including lifts, rolls, transfers, etc. Experience with Siemens Magnatom MRI Unit Training in other modalities such Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, and DEXA are a plus MRI Board certification through ARRT/ACR CPR certification High School Diploma or equivalent DUTIES: The MRI Technologist will need to be able to perform basic MRI Studies procedures according to protocols established by the radiologists Operate an MRI scanner, which takes several cross-sectional scans and combines them into one to form a 3-dimensional image that assists doctors in diagnosis and treatment of patients Interviewing patients, explaining the scanning process and positioning them on the examining table Give patients intravenous injections of gadolinium, a contrast agent that increases visibility of internal body areas Utilizes sterile technique when performing venipuncture and introducing contrast material Performs on a technical level without constant supervision of technical detail Performs procedures for adult patients requiring independent judgment to apply prescribed and appropriate MRI scanning and diagnostic techniques for diagnosis assumes responsibility of designated area and procedures performed Prepares and screens patients having the exams done Perform other duties as assigned Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
