Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) - Theatre: Voice/Speech (25-26) Full-time Faculty Positions Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. Our faculty (26 full-time and 60 part-time) includes leading Chicago theatre artists across all disciplines. Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to): Teaching 8 classes a year (The Theatre School operates on a ten-week quarter system) Dialect and Voice Coaching for TTS Productions Advising students on academic progress Mentoring and advising on student production work Directing one production a year Service commitments to The Theatre School Recruitment/auditioning of potential acting students Service commitments to DePaul University Continuation of Creative Activities/Research/Scholarship Required Qualifications: Candidates for consideration will possess the following qualifications: Evidence of teaching experience that can translate to undergraduate and graduate actor Voice and Speech training An MFA or extensive professional experience equivalent to a terminal degree Demonstrated success with mentoring talent at early stages of professional artistic development A current, ongoing, and recognized theatrical practice of at least 5 years Evidence of a multi-cultural perspective in candidate's body of work, including working with diverse populations Demonstrated expertise in one or more voice pedagogies, including, but not limited to: Fitzmaurice, Roy Hart, Lessac, Linklater, or Rodenburg. Ability to teach speech, phonetics, dialects, and/or heightened language. Expertise in non-western voice pedagogy and practice is valued Evidence of expertise/ability to coach voice/dialects on productions Evidence of commitment to collegiality and collaboration Evidence of collaborative work within an institution or organization Special Instructions to Applicants: Applications are only being accepted via Interfolio.
