Job Summary:

The Senior Laboratory Assistant supports the day-to-day laboratory operations and by ensuring efficient upkeep of laboratory operations. Individuals in this role assist scientists by maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and ensuring the lab remains compliant with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines designed to comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Creates and places order requisitions for Analytical Sciences laboratory supplies.
  • Receives and organizes laboratory supplies and maintains order inventories.
  • Labes received chemicals and logs chemicals in the Chemicals database.
  • Performs daily calibration checks of laboratory instruments.
  • Cleans and organizes laboratory glassware, dissolution units, benchtops, and disposes of empty chemical containers.
  • Assists with the preparation of laboratory solutions, including calibration of pH meters.
  • Serves as backup for the Reference Standards and Retain Samples Coordinator, including maintaining all inventory.
  • Records information in laboratory logbooks following applicable SOPs.
  • Remains current with all applicable training assignments, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practice.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or inventory databases is a plus.
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills.
  • GMP knowledge and strong laboratory documentation skills.
  • Good communication skills in the English language.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Position may require prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, balancing, stooping, bending, and crouching; the ability to push, pull, drag and/or lift up to 20 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Will be required to work in a clean and/or sterile laboratory environment occasionally, and wear personal protective equipment to include but not limited to: gloves, safety glasses or goggles, face shields, lab coats, aprons, ear plugs and dust masks.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $46,709.00 to $53,030.00. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

Base salary is one part of the overall compensation package, which includes the opportunity to participate in employee stock purchase programs and performance-based bonus programs.
