Maintenance Planner & Procurement Specialist, Lithium Refinery

Tesla's Battery Materials Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to be a Maintenance Planner & Procurement Specialist for a novel Lithium Refinery near Corpus Christi, TX. As a Maintenance Planner & Procurement Specialist, you will interface closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to develop and implement detailed commissioning plans that are optimized with the construction schedule. Once the unit is fully operational, you will leverage this experience to support the development and implementation of the maintenance planning and procurement program for the site.

• Work closely with discipline specialists and engineers to develop detailed work packages for efficient field execution, inclusive of cost & resource estimates, material procurement, and QA/QC requirements for base maintenance as well as planned outages
• Leverage the overall project schedule to develop detailed commissioning schedules that align with project milestones, highlighting potential resource constraints and efficiency opportunities early and often
• Serve as the Procurement Lead for the Maintenance & Reliability Team, ensuring that the team has the tools, materials, and support required to execute their work safely and efficiently
• Develop detailed justifications for the procurement of these resources, and champion the approval process for the associated purchase orders
• Lead the coordination of commissioning activities across organizational boundaries, inclusive of vendor support, on-site resource balancing, equipment availability, and utility needs
• Leverage commissioning experience to assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures, work practices, operator rounds, & equipment strategies to enable efficient life-cycle management of plant assets post-startup
• Generate comprehensive weekly/monthly maintenance schedules for assigned unit areas, inclusive of PMs, repairs, and improvements

• Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of equipment maintenance fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems
• 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment, with experience supporting maintenance organizations in the development and execution of detailed job plans. Experience with solids handling, rotary calcination and hydro-metallurgical equipment is a plus
• Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Navisworks, and Hexagonis a plus
• Ability to communicate clearly and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, as well as executives
• A basic understanding of energy isolation, LOTO, and other fundamentals of unit Operations
• Command of english language, both written and verbal
