City/State Williamsburg, VAOverview Work Shift First (Days) (United States of America)Sentara is hiring a Patient Advocate in Williamsburg, Virginia Status: Part-Time Schedule: 10 am - 2 pm on Mondays - Fridays Location: Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, has 145 licensed beds and features the latest healthcare technologies, serving the region with the life-saving capabilities of an ultra-modern medical center. The Patient Advocate facilitates and promotes continuous quality improvements in the delivery of patient care by maintaining active interfaces between internal and external customers (patients, family, visitors, medical staff, risk management, etc.), maintaining data system of customer issues for use in identifying areas for improvement. Protects the patient's rights; speaking out on the patient's family's behalf when necessary. The Patient Advocate serves as a Sentara direct representative to patients/families who have concerns or questions regarding Sentara services. Staff education to improve patient satisfaction is also expected. Qualifications: Minimum two (2) years of experience in an environment where conflict resolution skills were utilized to manage complex communications, difficult persons and situations; and facilitating the conversion of diverse opinions/thoughts preferred.
