JOB SUMMARY

The Employment Placement Specialist reports to the Program Director and will assist clients with employment development and services.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Must become familiar and knowledgeable of the complete Federal Bureau of Prisons Statement of Work for the residential reentry center.
  2. Assist and provide federal residents with the following services including but not limited to use of community resources, employment, assisting federal residents to receive needed community services, educational tutoring, life skills practice, vocational skills development, and assisting residents in achieving treatment goals developed jointly with other team members.
  3. Make written case notes regarding federal resident behavior, noting significant intervention and changes in accordance with contract requirements.
  4. Provide residents with an overview of the program rules and procedures.
  5. Process and generate assessments that will address resident job skills, education, social, work history, vocation.
  6. Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEP) for the residents.
  7. Provide individual and group counseling that is geared toward the resident's specified employment/educational or vocational goals and objectives.
  8. Plan, organize, and implement special groups and seminars for residents.
  9. Assist the federal residents with appropriate utilization of all community resources and referral services.
  10. Work closely with Case Manager to assist and provide federal residents with transitional programming.
  11. Develop and maintain updated inventory for job openings in the Fresno County area and assist federal residents with other placement resources in the community.
  12. Job development, resume writing, employment job fairs in partnership with community colleges, interview techniques.
  13. Report client misbehavior and rule violations.
  14. Perform resident monitoring activities.
  15. Will drive on Agency business.
  16. Will think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  17. Physical presence at the program is required.


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS



  1. Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science program from an accredited college OR university or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of two (2) years' experience in the employment services field.
  3. Ability to work effectively with program clients.
  4. Current certified training in emergency first aid and CPR procedures Preferred.
  5. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
  6. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
  7. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  8. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
  9. Must maintain good relationships with current, future and past employees, co-workers, vendors, third party administrators, and others with whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
