JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at Penn State is seeking a Grants and Contracts Administrator.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Primary focus will be to review and process grant agreements from federal agencies, prepare subawards, and process subaward closeouts.
  • Will require negotiation of agreements in compliance with university policy, process, and modifications to existing agreements.
  • Interact on a regular basis with faculty, university administrative offices, and external sponsors.
  • Interact and Advise faculty and college coordinators in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines.

Education and Experience: The minimum education and experience for this position is a Bachelor's degree and 1+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Preferred Education, Experience, or Certifications: Familiarity with federal government regulations highly preferred, especially the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).

  • Fluency in a foreign language preferred. Proposal preparation and post award management experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Strategic Information Management System (SIMS),
  • completion of the ACES program preferred.
  • Experience Negotiating grants and contracts a plus.

  • Must have self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and maintain a large volume workload in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail;
  • Have the ability to maintain effective relationships with peers and others in a diverse environment,
  • Support team decisions and follow through with job responsibilities while continuously building on current job knowledge;
  • Ability to interpret information, ideas and instructions clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing,
  • Determine causes of unusual occurrences and apply standard principles and practices to determine and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

      Work Arrangement: The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote within the United States, fully in-person at our University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone.

      The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

      $51,000.00 - $74,000.00

      Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
