UNC Rex Hospital is seeking an inpatient Infectious Disease doctor to join their team. Job Responsibilities: * Provides professional medical services to patients, both in-person and in a virtual setting. * Exercises independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients. * Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care and other health and medical services. * Prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals. * Consults and counsels patients and families. Provides health and medical education to patients and families. * Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to assure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided. * Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third party insurance billing. * Supervises other medical professionals. * Adheres to the principles of medical ethics. Education Requirements: * Active member of the Rex Hospital Medical Staff, including meeting the Board Certification in Infectious Disease required. * Graduation from an accredited school of medicine. Licensure/Certification Requirements: * Board Certified Infectious Diseases * DEA; BLS; MD/DO, NCMB Professional Experience Requirements: Prefer prior inpatient experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: This job profile is intended to provide a representation of responsibilities required. UNC Rex Hospital Founded in 1894, UNC REX Healthcare (a member of UNC Health Care) is a private, not-for-profit health care system that joined UNC Health Care in 2000.
