The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for a variety of duties to assist in the preparation and packaging of medications, distribution and delivery of medications, supporting the maintenance of proper inventory levels and, keeping appropriate records and documentation.

Full Time (40 hours)




  • Rotating Shift (Days, Evenings, & Nights)
  • Evening Shift
  • Night Shift



Weekend work required

PTI - Requirements:




  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Registration in the State of Maryland as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Must pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam within two years of hire.



PTII - Requirements:




  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered in the State of Maryland as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam required.
  • Minimum of 3-6 months of work experience as a Pharmacy Technician, hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Intravenous (IV) Certification within 90 days of hire.



Sr. PT - Requirements:




  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered in the State of Maryland as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of Pharmacy Technician III experience at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  • Additional Certification(s) may also be required depending upon the needs and activities of the assigned department/division.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.07 per visit - Maximum 19.81 per visit. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
