We currently have a contract to hire a remote opportunity available for a IT Project Manager.

The Project Manager is a client-facing resource who will be responsible for leading a team of colleagues and client personnel in completing projects by a set deadline to uphold business initiatives.

Their duties include dividing up their budget for different project aspects and advocating for additional funding when necessary, hiring freelance professionals or selecting project team members from existing departments, and setting or adjusting project schedules to adhere to deadlines.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop project plans to monitor and track progress with clients and internal teams following standard procedures set up with the Project Management Office (Communicate contractual project deliverables with internal teams through Jira, and Confluence; monitor progress and export reports for clients and PMO)
  • Manage project phase deliverables and prepare milestone acceptance documents for client alignment or billing if fixed price contract
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Coordinate internal resources and consultants for the flawless execution of projects
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and work with PMO on standard procedures
  • Manage communication with clients and attend regular online meetings to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Support to set up standard procedures to track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Manage the project RAID (risks, issues, actions, decisions) Log, identifying and escalating significant project concerns.
  • Able to partner with external vendors and C-level executives
  • Travel required

Competencies
  • Proven client-facing experience and skills
  • Posses a solid level of computer literacy including Office Suite software, particularly MS Project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Previous experience in industry or industrial association preferably in the Food & Beverage, Cosmetics, Chemical sectors, and project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Note: it can vary from Life Sciences degrees such as Food Science, Environmental Science, or Economy /Law/ Information Technology.)
  • Proficient in written and spoken English. (Proficiency in other languages a plus)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with clients professionally.
  • Good time management skills and ability to provide on-time delivery of outputs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with international cross-functional teams (data teams, technology teams, management teams, subject matter experts).
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and experience with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Planner, Jira, Confluence)

Ideal candidates will have the following:
  • Project Management certifications highly desirable (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP), Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecyle Management (PLM), Food Safety, and Compliance software.
  • Experience implementing software for external clients
Travel
Up to 25% travel can be expected for this position.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
