Role Overview:

The Sensory Panel Leader R&D Sensory Cocoa supports the Cocoa Science panel requirements, creating/managing daily professional panel test schedule, leading the descriptive panel through the daily schedule, driving panel consensus, elevating panel and/or attribute issues, analyzing and reporting commodity results, managing and reporting consensus profiling projects, supporting lexicon development and reference verification, and managing "out-of" shelf life temporary extension requests.

Responsibilities:




  1. Lead panel through daily schedule, drive panel consensus on product descriptions, elevate panel and/or attribute issues to supervisor. Support panel scheduling.
  2. Manage and report consensus profiling projects
  3. Support commodity approval process via sample login, control selection, data analysis and reporting (e-mail, WORD documents and LIMS).
  4. Professional Panel Lexicon development and reference verification.
  5. Manage out-of Shelf Life temporary extension requests.



Qualifications:



  • Experienced Facilitiator with Proven ability to lead group discussions and to reach consensus
  • Excellent tasting skills (ability to discern differences in samples for appearance, taste, texture)
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to prioritize efficiently the work with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Sensory and Product Design methodology; proficient at report writing.



Experience & Education:



  • High School diploma or GED. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Science preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of applicable work experience with Sensory testing as a trained sensory panelist.
