Job Summary:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado is seeking a full-time breast surgical oncologist with fellowship training or equivalent in breast surgical oncology. Appointment as a full-time Assistant, Associate, or Professor academic appointment at the University of Colorado will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements. Suitable candidates will have an MD/DO and be board certified/eligible with interests in teaching and scholarship. Candidates will have interest in working both in a community hospital setting and at the academic medical center. Key Responsibilities:
- All aspects of breast surgical oncology
- Education of students, residents and fellows
- Development of a cancer focused research program
- Scholarly activities related to surgical oncology
- Scope of work will span both the Anschutz Medical Campus and affiliated satellite practices

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor:
- MD/DO from an accredited school of medicine
- Board Eligible or Certification in General Surgery and Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship or equivalent
- CO Medical license or license eligible
Associate Professor:
- MD/DO from an accredited school of medicine
- Board Eligible or Certification in General Surgery and Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship or equivalent CO Medical license or license eligible
- 4 years' experience in Breast Surgical Oncology practice
Professor:
- MD/DO from an accredited school of medicine
- Board Eligible or Certification in General Surgery and Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship or equivalent CO Medical license or license eligible
- 7+ years' experience in Breast Surgical Oncology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and a particular interest in the evaluation and treatment of breast cancer and related health concerns
- The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the development of a breast surgical oncology practice in a community and academic setting
- The candidate should also demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Clinical expertise in the full spectrum of breast surgical oncology diseases
- Surgical program development
- Successful background in scholarly activities
- Prior clinical and research experience in the evaluation and treatment of breast surgical oncology patients

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE 2023 Surgical Oncology posting ranges Assistant Professor: $287,000 - $352,561 Associate Professor: $338,422 - $392, 387 Professor: $388,605 - $487,479 If you have prior state-classified service in the same class series as this position, your pay may be set at a higher amount per the state Step Pay Program implemented on July 1, 2024. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
