Scheduled Weekly Hours: 18.5Gundersen Health System is seeking a part-time (18.5 hours/week) Activities Aide for our Tweeten- Spring Grove location! This is your opportunity to provide care to residents while doing the work you love and having FUN! What does an Activity Aide do:

To assist the Activity Director in executing the ongoing activity program designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial needs of each resident. Major Responsibilities1. Leads or assists with group activities, as directed. 2. Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis to provide a friendly visitor; sensory stimulation; validation; individual instruction on specific leisure pursuits; a means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident's activity assessment and care plan, etc. 3. Responsible for maintaining a written record of resident's participation and response and/or progress to specific approaches utilized during one-to-one visits. 4. Recognizes abnormal signs/symptoms in residents, which signify a physical change of condition and alerts nursing for assistance. 5. Assist residents by helping pass meal trays, snacks, water, etc. 6. Assists residents with transportation to/from general activities, to/from the dining room, or their room, as requested. 7. Assists with tracking an on-going inventory of departmental supplies and equipment maintenance needs. 8. Is constantly on alert for conditions that may interfere with the safety/well-being of residents; immediately report hazardous conditions to supervisor and/or charge nurse. 9. Abides by the established policies/procedures of the facility, licensing agencies, as well as, local/state/federal regulatory bodies. 10. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance. 13. Other duties as assigned. Education and LearningREQUIRED High school graduate or have a GED. Work ExperienceDESIRED Experience in geriatric care Knowledge in music and arts/crafts License and CertificationREQUIRED None Age Specific Population Served: Adult Geriatric OSHA Category: Category III - No employees in this job title have a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.
