Purpose This position is responsible for the identification and development of continuing and professional education programming to be offered through UT's Extended Campus and in partnership with UT colleges, schools, and units. The goal for this position is to boost current program offerings and develop new programs in areas of strategic interest that meet industry, community, and/or institutional needs. Reporting to the Director of Course Programming, this individual will work with industry and academic partners to identify current and anticipated workforce needs, translate opportunities into actionable plans, and oversee program/course development. Regular duties include analysis of market trends in professional and continuing education, proposal writing, program design advising, MOU creation, general oversight of the build process, and coordination with implementation teams. Success in this role requires deep understanding of the continuing and professional education market and its related economics, the ability to identify and evaluate opportunities and risks, a good understanding of how courses are developed and promoted, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects with a wide variety of stakeholders. Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree. 7+ years relevant experience in higher education, continuing and professional education, corporate training, or workforce and economic development initiatives. Ability to interpret market research to recommend projects and to guide project planning. Demonstrable experience managing projects. Ability to communicate complex information in ways that can be easily understood by others. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. An appreciation for the purpose and mission of continuing and professional education. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree. Demonstrated track record of educational program planning. Substantive experience in market research, needs assessment, and education product development. Experience working with an LMS. Direct experience with budgetary planning and oversight.
