Description
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves conducting comprehensive energy audits, analyzing building systems, and identifying opportunities to enhance energy efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in energy conservation measures, energy modeling, and have excellent project coordination skills.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct energy audits at various levels of detail - ASHRAE Level 1, 2 and 3.
  • Perform on-site inspections and efficiency assessments of a wide range of building systems and equipment.
  • Review building and system plans, collect and analyze field data related to energy usage.
  • Identify, evaluate and develop energy conservation measures including energy savings calculations.
  • Analyze energy use and cost history to establish baselines and identify potential savings opportunities.
  • Prepare building descriptions, equipment inventories and operating schedules.
  • Prepare reports that effectively communicate the energy analysis results and recommendations for cost-effective measures for energy improvements.
  • Coordinate project work/information with team members, clients, vendors and utilities.
  • Perform building energy use simulations and modeling for new construction and extensive renovation projects.
  • Analyze measurement and verification data to determine the effectiveness of completed projects.
Target salary range $70 - 85k
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 3 years of prior experience with building simulation/modeling software and/or testing equipment (blower door, combustion, thermal imaging and/or other measurement and testing equipment)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Professional certification (i.e., CEM, CEA, LEED, BPI, HERS Rater) or work toward obtaining certification is desirable.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the energy efficiency field
  • Experience analyzing energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings
  • A high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong project & time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to comfortably interact with internal and external customers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
