Department OB/GYN PhysiciansJob Summary The Department of OB-GYN at Denver Health Medical Center is recruiting for a Part-Time OB-GYN Hospitalist physician to join our team. We provide full scope obstetric and gynecologic care through a collaborative integrated service model. Denver Health has approximately 3600-4000 deliveries per year, which is ~1/3 of the deliveries of Denver residents. Denver Health also has a busy GYN service with increasing number of GYN consults with some needing urgent/emergent surgery. We serve a diverse patient population where most of our patients identify as Hispanic/Latina, and our patients speak over 23 different languages. Denver Health is formally affiliated with the University of Colorado, School of Medicine where all faculty have full-time academic appointments. Denver Health is an essential teaching site for the School of Medicine. OB-GYN residents do approximately 1/3 of their clinical work at Denver Health. The Department serves additional learners - Family Medicine residents, Emergency Medicine residents, medical students, nurse-midwife students, Psychology interns, and nurse practitioner students. Highlights/Responsibilities: A full-time physician will have a monthly schedule of 12-14 clinical shifts (10-14 hours shifts); consisting of a mix of predominately night and weekend shifts with opportunity for day-time shifts. Shift scheduling can include 24-hour shifts and flexible scheduling such as 3 inpatient night shifts per week, or 2 inpatient night shifts and 1 daytime weekend shift. Part time physicians will have clinical shifts outlined above reduced to reflect their FTE level. This physician will share responsibility with the on-call OB-GYN attending in assisting with concurrent deliveries, obstetrical emergencies, and patient care. Clinical opportunities include Labor and Delivery, Postpartum care, emergent gynecologic surgery, gynecologic consults, and comprehensive clinical care in our OB ED (triage). Responsibilities will include labor and delivery management, supervision of resident physicians, CNMs, FM providers, medical students, and other learners, and hands-on clinical care in Labor and delivery, Postpartum, Gynecology, and Obstetrical ED Department. This physician will be working in a busy, acute care environment where they are a member of a multidisciplinary collaborative team with the collaboration and support of another OB-GYN attending physician. This physician should enjoy working directly with patients, resident physicians and other learners. This physician should be in support of the hospital and department's mission to provide high quality evidence-based patient care. Applicants must have successfully completed an ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency training program. Board Certified or Board Eligible (cert required within 3 years) by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; have acknowledged excellence in the field; are eligible for licensure in the state of Colorado and be eligible for privileges at Denver Health Medical Center.
