POSITION SUMMARY:

The intern will provide technical, logistical, and administrative support to the Engineering Production for the efficient and cost-effective management of large-scale construction/production work on the right of way. The intern will work in both the office and in the field in all types of weather conditions to support a 24/7 operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Support production team with production reporting, weekly look ahead development, delay reporting, summary of data analysis and other processes to ensure compliance with department procedures and standards.
  • Assist in the development of Site Specific Safety Work Plan (SSSWP) to ensure safety of the job.
  • Support project production reporting.
  • Analyze production unit efficiencies and delays for root cause remediation.
  • Work with production team members and subject matter experts to develop project execution plans.
  • Work in the field with the Track laying system to learn how the system works and then document the process.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate in Engineering, Logistics, Business.
  • Must have at least 2 years of academic undergraduate studies completed or a junior status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Actively pursuing a graduate degree in Engineering.



COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

The hourly range is $17.50 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.

Summer 2025 internship program will run from May 19th - August 8, 2025.
