Job Title: Process Operator
Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary:
The Process Operator will be responsible for safely operating and monitoring manufacturing processes, adhering to established procedures and quality standards. This role involves reading and following process instructions, handling chemicals safely, performing basic testing, and ensuring that products meet quality specifications. The ideal candidate will have a good mechanical aptitude, an understanding of process control systems, and experience with material handling. Key Responsibilities:
Process Understanding & Documentation:
- Read and interpret process instructions, worksheets, work instructions, and related quality procedures to ensure adherence to manufacturing standards.
Chemical Handling & Analysis:
- Safely handle and work with chemicals, performing process-required analysis such as titrations and other simple chemical tests.
Quality Assurance:
- Understand product quality requirements and distinguish between conforming and nonconforming materials. Ensure products meet quality standards throughout the production process.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and calibrate equipment used in the production process as required, ensuring optimal functionality and accuracy.
Quality System & Material Identification:
- Have a thorough understanding of the company's Quality System and material identification methods, following procedures to ensure product traceability and compliance.
Material Handling:
- Move materials between operations using necessary handling equipment (manual and powered) while adhering to safety protocols.
Process Operations:
- Operate process controls using the Omron control system to manage and adjust process parameters.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), while maintaining process quality and safety standards.
Process Improvements:
- Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency or quality, ensuring that any changes are reviewed and approved by the technical department before implementation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in process operations, chemistry, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly with chemical handling and process operations.
- Familiarity with process control systems (experience with Omron systems is a plus).
- Basic understanding of chemical testing methods, such as titrations, and equipment calibration procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience handling and troubleshooting production equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work well as part of a team.
