The IP Professional Services PLM Head is responsible for the overall planning, development, and monitoring of the professional service portfolio over its complete lifecycle. Defines the strategic direction of IP professional service portfolio and segments in view of market conditions and customer requirements. Provides leadership and expertise in formulating and executing strategies for a variety of services / service segments. Lays out the groundwork for investments in influencing the decision-making regarding portfolio decisions. Ensures that portfolio performance meets or exceeds set targets to enable product competitiveness and customer attractiveness.

As the Head of IP Professional Services PLM, you will lead the IP Professional Services strategy and guide a dedicated IP PLM team towards successful portfolio management. Your focus will be on driving innovation and growth within the Professional Services sector, playing a critical role in shaping the future of IP services.



  • Drives effective alignment among sales team, business groups and customers on IP Technology
  • Captures competitive feedback and interface with IP business groups and is accountable/lead for strategic investment decisions in services, features and new portfolio item developments.
  • Provides IP services trend insights and-related value argumentation to support sales activities in the market.
  • Provides leadership and expertise in planning and implementing product portfolio strategy.
  • Drives the process of prioritisation and assessment of key IP Services requirements.
  • Anticipates internal and external business challenges and / or regulatory issues and drives process, product or service improvements that create competitive advantage
  • Sets guidelines and criteria for definition of processes and standards (EG deciding on supporting tools and methodologies to analyse and prioritise the product portfolio).
  • Combines profound IP professional expertise with a holistic sense for the business and commercial environment and understands how the job contributes to achieving the objectives of the business
  • Support the RBC and the CBT Teams in growing Professional Services
  • Significantly influences strategic decisions in the professional area through expertise, in turn impacting the performance of the sub-function to create competitive advantage (EG responsible for the strategic direction of his / her portfolio of products & services).
  • Solves highly complex problems and develops original and innovative solutions with broad impact on the business (EG formulating totally novel and innovative strategies for a variety of product lines).
  • Monitors and guides professional developments and the strategy for a business-relevant organizational unit.
  • Is an acknowledged and externally visible authority and strategic IP expert,
  • Accountable for the effective execution of key financial KPI (P&L) IP Professional Services (Services Growth & margin, Portfolio Development, etc)


  • Management experience across IP Product and Services Portfolio.
  • Mastery of a deep IP knowledge of theory and practice or expertise across IP Product and Services Portfolio
  • Deep knowledge of IP Business Unit organization, RBCs and major CBTs with significant of IP Portfolio sales. Recognized thought leader.
  • 5-10 years extensive relevant experience in IP in Services, IP Product Unit or RBC, and ideally
  • Master's or PhD degree in Telecommunications.
