DIVISION: U.S. Energy
POSITION SUMMARYThe Strategy Analyst works in our U.S. Energy division and will support the development and implementation of the business strategy to maximize shareholder value, improve operations, and deliver exceptional customer service. This includes assisting the strategic planning process, gathering and analyzing market and industry trends, and conducting data-driven market research and turning it into actionable insights to drive strategic decisions.
This role could be based in Appleton, WI or Houston, TX.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning
- Support the annual strategic planning process to develop and implement our near- and long-term strategy and supporting initiatives
- Track and report on strategic initiative performance
Market Intelligence / Platform Expansion
- Assist in the identification, research, development, and implementation of new business opportunities (product development, new market entry, M&A, etc.) that diversifies the business portfolio and furthers company growth
- Conduct market research and analysis including competitive intelligence, customer profiling & segmentation, market entry & expansion landscaping, market sizing, legislative developments, and public funding opportunities
- Create presentation materials for divisional leadership, Board of Directors, and external partners storytelling divisional strategy and detailing capital investment requests to advance growth plan
- Monitor and report industry trends, M&A activity, and competitive activity
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify key customer prospects
- Present strategic recommendations, actionable insights, and thought leadership supported by robust, data-driven research and analysis
- Attend industry conferences/trade shows to capture key market insights

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, finance, political science, economics, or related field
- Prior experience in marketing/strategy/policy/business development support role a strong plus
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting complex projects while using a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options, then proposing and acting on a course of action
- Highly collaborative and adept at building strong relationships with diverse individuals
- Experience scanning markets for signals that led to growth opportunities
- Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and identify/develop analytical frameworks
- Demonstrated project management capabilities; setting acceptable timelines for initiatives and hitting deadlines
- Experience partnering with multiple business functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate throughout levels of an organization
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations
- Responds well to questions
- Writes clearly and informatively
- Good listener
- 10-15% travel
