Key Responsibilities:



  • Identify, research, and prioritize prospective prospects capable of making significant contributions to the University's program and initiatives.
  • Lead and execute the fundraising efforts related to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in partnership with the Dean
  • Oversee and lead the fundraising efforts of the Ward Society.
  • Manage a portfolio of 120 - 175 households of major gift prospects.

    • Develop solicitation strategies by identifying and prioritizing top prospective donors, creating plans for engaging donors with the university, and establishing strong relationships which lead to major gifts.
    • Develop and implement strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects.
    • Prepare and present proposals, gift agreements, and other materials needed to secure major gifts.


  • Be accountable to metrics and contact reports towards fundraising goals. Keep current on programs and student initiatives at the University.
  • Represent Lipscomb University at events, meetings, and conferences to promote fundraising initiatives and engage with donors.


Qualifications/Experience:



  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in major gift fundraising or related fields, preferably in higher education or nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully soliciting and closing major gifts.
  • Proven track record of building and growing successful programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire donors and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Lipscomb University.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to articulate the case for support to inspire "buy in" to the vision/mission/goals of the University that lead to gifts.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
