Academic Staffing Inc., an ESS Company, is hiring a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) for the 2024-2025 school year in Miami Dade County Schools.

Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Social Work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling services
  • Active Florida Department of Health license in Social Work, licensed marriage and family therapist, or mental health counselor
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, families, and staff.
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations related to special education and student support services.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to address students' specific needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
  • Advocate for students' rights and ensure they have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Offer crisis intervention services when needed and provide support during difficult situations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Promote a positive school climate through the implementation of programs and initiatives that address bullying prevention and social-emotional learning.
