Associate Dean, Instruction & Community Development Job ID: 320729 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Salary Range $94,786-$123,222/annually, DOE Grade 123 Work Schedule The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm; Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am-6pm or 8:00am - 6:30pm. This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department. Job Summary The Associate Dean of Instruction and Community Development administers and assesses academic services for Adult Education (i.e., high school equivalency, English language, and career training programs), community educational partnerships, and workforce training programs, and is responsible for associated grants, contracts, budgets, and compliance. The Associate Dean also oversees division-wide curriculum and professional learning design, development, implementation, and evaluation to promote student learning, completion, and transition. Essential Functions 40% - Develops, plans, administers, and assesses academic services for the Adult Education (high school equivalency diploma seekers and English language learners) instructional program; instructional pathways to Integrated Education and Training and postsecondary transition; other noncredit programming, curriculum, and professional learning to meet the educational needs of the communities served. 20% - Develops and administers budgets; oversees program-related audit activities; makes recommendations and action plans; resolves complex issues to ensure contract/grant renewal, compliance, and exemplary quality of instructional programming that promotes student success; authors and edits complex proposals, reports, and documents. 20% - Assigns, supervises, evaluates, and develops staff for academic services. 10% - Oversees and evaluates instructional programs and services to meet defined objectives and outcomes 10% - Serves as a liaison with administrators, faculty, and students; cultivates and manages internal and external partnerships; collaborates on program initiatives; serves on committees to represent Rio Salado College and Community Development Division; performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for Student Affairs or non-academic pathway: Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or field related to area of assignment and four years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in field of assignment that includes two years of supervisory experience. Examples of student affairs academic support management/leadership experience includes: program management, project management, budget development and management related to programs or projects, staff supervision, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance. No degree equivalency. OR Minimum Qualifications for Academic pathway: Master's Degree in a teaching field related to area(s) of assignment and four years of experience in an academic leadership and/or supervisory role in higher education and three years of teaching that includes curriculum/coursework development. Examples of academic leadership/supervisory experience includes: division/department chair, project management, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance, committee leadership, program director, and shared governance. No degree equivalency. Desired Qualifications A. Five (5) or more years overseeing the coordination, delivery, and assessment of instructional programs B. Three (3) or more years of successful grant management experience C. Three (3) or more years of experience analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, and summarizing written materials, including data D. Three (3) or more years of developing, monitoring, and managing budgets Special Working Conditions Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; Must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements; Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense; May require some evenings or weekends; May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen; May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
