About the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the Research Engineer I-Limited Term. The school has vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs, with over 350 undergraduate majors and 160 graduate students, and an extensive research portfolio. Its faculty, staff, and students participate in a range of dynamic and collaborative research programs and enjoy modern facilities located on a pleasant urban campus in the City of Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta, GA

The School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology is recruiting for a Research Engineer I position. This is a limited term position for one year.

The Research Engineer will perform activities including:

1. Designing, gathering, compiling, analyzing and report findings.
2. Developing alternative hypothesis/ models to inform subsequent experimental designs.
3. Maintain research-related records.
4. Operate various equipment used in research studies.
5. Participate as directed in preparation of manuscripts.
6. Maintain laboratory equipment.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

B.S. in Chemical Engineering, BioEngineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering field.

The Research Engineer should have experience in bioengineering of microorganisms including bacteria and yeast for chemical production as well as familiarity with mass spectrometry, design of experiments and omics approaches.
