Verkada is seeking a highly impactful Business Development Manager to join our A&E New Construction team! Your primary responsibility will be sourcing net new opportunities during the preconstruction and early construction phases by getting spec'd into or awarded on projects. Your focus will be with General Contractors and you can also expect to work with the A&E consultants or subcontractors/partners alongside our other teams (A&E, Sales, Channel). This expanded GC partner network will also add substantial value to the broader Sales Organization so you will also liaise between Channel Partners and the Sales team to ensure the relationship and opportunities are successful.

Responsibilities



  • Focus on General Contractor relationships across the US with some strategic engagement with global firms
  • Responsible for GC relationship and business development


    • Create a GC-specific pillar in our A&E Partner Program
    • Onboard GC's into the program and grow relationships
    • Source opportunities from GC's
    • Process those opportunities alongside our Sales, Solutions Engineering and Channel team
    • Drive revenue and bookings


  • Create and execute marketing plans targeting the assigned sector including marketing campaigns, trade show events, sales tools and web resources, social media, and customer interactions as approved
  • Provide ongoing guidance and suggestions to A&E leadership for program development
  • Supervise and manage business unit resources - demo equipment, marketing budgets, travel budgets, etc.


Requirements



  • Must have at least 3 years of sales experience, preferably in electrical / low voltage / security technology, existing relationships are preferred
  • Strong preference for experience working with General Contractors and sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders (end customer, consultants, etc)
  • Background in commercial construction or commercial real estate is preferred
  • Must demonstrate the ability to learn and absorb technical product information, deployment strategies, pricing structure and strategies to ensure successful project pursuits
  • Demonstrated history of project management
  • Fluency in Salesforce, G-Suite, and other business software, with emphasis on data and metrics tracking and reporting
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, balance multiple priorities, achieve deadlines
  • Disciplined to follow defined processes, yet creative to recommend/build new, scalable approaches
  • Your position will require you to interact with all other Verkada teams and our partners - must be a team player, understand different team dynamics and contribute in a positive manner toward the clients' success
  • 25-50% travel throughout the US required

Pay Disclosure

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
